July 12, 2010 was the chosen day to start work on our land, for no reasons other than the fact that we were leaving for Taipei on 13th so it was important for us to choose the site for the house.
Sakuliu very kindly arranged for the current and past chiefs of Dulan to conduct a blessing ceremony 祈福 for the build. It turned out to be a real cerebration, with friends dropping by bringing coffee and an anthropology professor with his students recording the ceremony. The chiefs enjoyed some local alcoholic drink in between praying to the spirits and ancestors.
