We heard a big thud and this beautiful bird was on the deck, stunned and not moving at all.

It is gaining composure, able to stay upright, but still dazed.
This is probably my only chance to be in such close proximity with this bird, which tends to hide in the trees. It is a Taiwan Barbet (五色鳥).
When it regained strength to fly away, it dashed to the nearest low ground, camouflaged itself perfectly among the weeds. It took me a while to spot it perched on a fallen tree branch.

When it took off again, this time head towards a tree. I felt better, knowing that it is on its way home.
