Mulled Orange Juice

When it’s cold, my go-to drinks are mulled wine (alcoholic) or Indian chai ( caffeine). I love both but I need a third option without stimulants like caffeine or alcohol.

Neighbour gave me a mix of oranges, tangerines and mandarins (haven’t figured out how to tell them apart). What can I make out of them?

I have cloves and cinnamon in the pantry. Dug out some fresh ginger from the garden. I have all the ingredients to make a mulled orange juice.


  • 500ml orange juice
  • 3cm in length of ginger (or 6 cm if young ginger)
  • 3 cloves
  • 3cm in length of cinnamon bark
  • 100ml water

Add ginger, cloves, crushed ginger and cinnamon into water, bring to boil until the aroma of the spices is released. Add the orange juice and bring to boil, simmer in low heat for a further 5 minutes and it is ready.
